Comparing Entertainment Weekly and Variety The Entertainment weekly magazine uses bright colours which reflect the theme of the magazine. For example, this magazine cover is for the new ‘Aladdin’ of the movie, and all three of the characters give off a positive emotive ambiance as they are all happy and are welcoming, appealing to the young target audience of the movie. Variety have a repetition of using dark, serious and emotive covers for their magazines. The Variety magazine that I have chosen to compare is the March No4 issue which includes an image of Chris Evans. Comparing the two magazine covers together, it is clear to see that Variety use a more serious approach to the covers and target an older and more sophisticated audience.
